Bats Day on Twitter 101

It has come to my attention that there are certain things you must set up on Twitter to receive the all benefits of having Twitter. I am finding out a lot of this on my own. It seems that some of the people that are following Bats Day on Twitter are not receiving messages from Bats Day.

This is a great internet tool and you are going to want to have it set correctly to be able to utilize it during Bats Day in the Fun Park's "Year of a Million Screams!"

People who join Twitter and make Bats Day their friend will receive super secret info that you will only get from using Twitter. This info will be sent to your cell phone as a text message. A lot of the info that will be coming from Twitter will not be posted on the regular Bats Day communities. You may receive messages about special events, prize information and discount codes.

Now do you need a cell phone to use Twitter?
You do not need a cell phone but it does help. You can still access twitter from the internet. You just will not have the benefit of having this info sent to your cell phone as a text message. Its like having Bats Day on the go.

Example: Lets say you are at Disneyland on Nov 9th during Bats Day in the Fun Park. You may receive a text message from Bats Day on Twitter that could say
"The first 5 people who find Noah K at the Haunted Mansion will receive at prize!"

Now this message will be sent to your cell phone and you will know about it.

There will also be other special little things like discount codes or events that only you will know about. You will be able to take advantage of this by having Twitter.


Ok on to the set up.

If you dont have Twitter yet you can join by going to
http://twitter.com/batsday
and then add Bats Day to your Follower list.

Now once you join and add Bats Day to your followers list, you need to make sure that the "Device updates" for Bats Day is turned on. You can find this in the "followers" section.


This should ensure that you will receive all messages to your cell phone.



Replying to a message from the Twitter website:

Now if you want to reply to a message that Bats Day has made, make sure that you click on the little arrow icon, that is at the end of the message, first and then type the rest of the message you are sending to Bats Day. If you dont do this Bats Day will not know that you have responded to them.



Replying to a message from a cell phone as a text message:

To reply to a message via a cell phone as a text message you must first put at the beginning of your text message "@batsday". Make sure there is a space after "@batsday". Your message should look like this:

@batsday [insert your message here up to 140 characters]

If you do not do this I will not get your response message.
